MY JOURNEY WITH IIN
In 2017 I signed up for a Health Coaching online course with the US-based Institute for Integrative Nutrition. The reason why I signed up was that I wanted to gain basic understanding about nutrition and not just simply follow hear-say, or only rely on “Mrs. Google’s" knowledge.
Plus my daughter is an athlete of international level now, and without any wisdom of nutrition, I just knew that there was more to food than just filling the stomach. And that became especially important as to make sure my daughter ate as “right” food as possible, because of her sports activities plus because she is a (very fast) growing teenager.
LEARNING TURNED INTO PASSION
Learning about food then very fast turned into a passion and I soon felt the urge and a certain sense of duty to share my gained knowledge, such important discoveries about food and it’s healing-, or sadly often health-ruining powers, should be made public to
everyone, and this exceeds the simple NO to McDonald's or any of the fast-food outlets, which includes here in Malaysia many of our so-called food-stalls - "mamak-stalls".
MORE THAN JUST FOOD
But it is not only all about food, I learned throughout the IIN course about the role of sleep, how important it is to meditate (without having to become a “Hippie” as my daughter feared when I started), how good, or challenging relationships also play a role in how you cope with every day’s life and it’s health threats. This course was an eye-opener and initiated a paradigm shift in my life. I decided to take this course to the next level and make it my new profession, to help people change their (health) lives, reach their goals, meet their targeted results.
OTHER GAINED TRAINING
Parallel to my journey with IIN, I attended courses that directed me more towards the mental well-being and I extended my training and further graduated as an HRDF-certified Self-Actualisation Trainer, inspired by the bio-psycho-social-spiritual programs taught by the Malaysian psychotherapist, Dr. Lennie Soo under Persatuan i-inspire.
THE DISCOVERY OF HABITS
The combination of both life-changing journeys made me then realise that nearly all changes are related to habits and that a change of a habit is the beginning of any change. By identifying the “not so good” habits, eliminating them, while developing GOOD HABITS and allowing those to settle, get established until they become the new lifestyle, the new you is being created.
And this is where my personal strength lies, I detect your threatening old habits and understand the distress any client faces in changing them. I identify ways to change these habits, letting you experience that, although there is, of course, a challenge, it is manageable and less exhausting than it may seem. I introduce new GOOD HABITS into lives, supporting the change, even to the total elimination of old, less good habits, and the results are amazing.
EVERYONE IS SPECIAL
But then, each person is special in a way as we all have different backgrounds, therefore each journey I create is individually custom made, no copy/paste concept, as what may be good for one client, could be “toxic” for you.
By the end of our passage together, you will be able to listen to your body and take better control over your thoughts, follow the directions your inner you will steer you towards, and lead a life where GOOD HABITS assure you blissful and healthy years ahead.
